The Barbados Cherry tree is a tropical fruit-bearing shrub or small tree in the family Malpighiaceae. Common names include acerola cherry, Guarani cherry, Barbados cherry, West Indian cherry, and wild crepe myrtle. Barbados Cherry develops into a thick, rounded canopy of beautiful delicate foliage . Small pink flowers appear randomly from anywhere between April-October and are followed about one month later by bright red, tart-tasting cherries which are high in vitamin C.
